Description of the procurement

The scope of the procurement is the design, manufacture and installation of a new cladding system to provide weather protection to the Hunterston A reactor buildings for the period of Care & Maintenance (C&M). Hunterston A is due to enter C&M in 2024 and begin Final Site Clearance in 2075 i.e. c. 50 years. The chosen system, with correct maintenance/ repair/ replacement, will be required to remain functional throughout its anticipated life of 60 years in order to support the safety case. The new cladding system will replace the existing temporary weather barrier.

This procurement will be managed electronically via the Complete Tender Management System (hereafter known as the CTM System). Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Magnox Limited will incorporate a standstill period, of 10 calendar days, following the notification of an award of contract communicated to tenderers. Potential providers who are unsuccessful shall be informed by Magnox Limited as soon as possible after the decision has been made as to the reasons why the potential provider was unsuccessful. The purpose of the standstill period referred to above is to allow the parties to apply to the Courts to set aside the award decision before the contract is entered into.
