Summary of the scope includes:
Control Tower (CT) Operation - The CT commenced operations in 2016 and is the central hub for co-ordination of the sites logistics services. The primary function of the CT is to identify and co-ordinate deliveries to the main Sellafield site and procedurally arrange the individual security access requirements to enable all deliveries to be efficiently managed to reduce and control traffic and support the operational sites requirements.
Security and Distribution Centre (S&DC) - Operations at the S&DC in Lillyhall, Workington includes warehouse receiving services, operation of the Delivery Management System (DMS), application of track and trace of goods, security screening of goods and materials, cross-docking, freight forwarding and delivery services for the CT.

Explanation
We are currently out to competition for the Logistics Service Provider scope of works via OJEU Restricted procedure in line with the PCRs. The tender was issued on 25th November 2019 and is not forecast for award until September 2020.
This contract is to cover the gap of service provision between the existing agreement expiring and the new tender concluding. The new tender is forecast for September 2020 award, this contract is to December 2020 to enable adequate time for tender completion. This contract contains a break provision which enables early expiry in the event that the longer term procurement is concluded and successful operator ready to commence service provision prior to the expiry of the interim.
Peterson are the incumbent provider and are therefore mobilised and currently delivering the scope of service therefore minimising disruption to Operations.
